Title: Divisional Director - Highways
Description: DIVISIONAL DIRECTOR HIGHWAYS AND TRANSPORTATION SHROPSHIRE £50 - 60,000 Our client is keen to appoint a key member to their 70 strong highways division, which looks after in the main local authority work in the Midlands. Key to this role will be the ability to lead and develop this division, so experience in developing and winning work is important. The company have been extremely successful in winning a very secure workload and they are now looking to expand on this by appointing an individual who will be take charge of this thriving office and grow it accordingly. You will be expected to give expert direction and implement best practice across the whole spectrum of business-critical issues – including marketing, recruitment, business development, performance management and finance. It is important that in all your dealings you will assist in helping to build the company's reputation for innovation, quality and great client relationships. The role will also embrace:- Managing the division to achieve the Business Plan targets and developing the business to contribute to the strategic growth of the Business Unit. Liaison with the management team to prepare marketing, recruitment, business and financial plans and ensuring plans are reviewed and adjusted as appropriate on a monthly basis. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with key clients to ensure the delivery of an appropriate level of service. Implementing systems and processes to ensure the effective management of project delivery in line with agreed objectives, timescales, costs and other KPI's. Carrying out regular reviews of all key projects within own area of responsibility and proactively engaging with clients and stakeholder groups to gather feedback and service improvement initiatives. Engaging in Business Development activities for the division, assisting in preparing bid documents and presenting papers and reports. Developing and implementing continuous improvement systems within the Division and gaining the commitment of the team to deliver business excellence at all times. Developing and maintaining effective team working across the Business Unit and other areas of the organisation to ensure the delivery of a full range of services to the client. Implementing Performance Management processes within the Division ensuring that staff are clear about expectations and standards of performance required. Ensuring application of appropriate Health and Safety, quality and environmental procedures. Developing the people resources and talent within the team ensuring that succession management and development initiatives are in place to maximise potential and identify future managers.
