Their current requirement calls for a Senior Bridge Inspector to work out of their Shropshire office.
The role will have you managing the Annual Bridge Inspection and Routine Maintenance programme to the Local Government Client with support from Technical Assistants, Technicians and Engineers within the Bridges Team.
This will involve you providing technical support in Bridge Inspections and Routine Maintenance, and assist the Design teams in the Bridges Section. You must be able to deliver
effective design solutions from conception to realisation and to take a leading role in technical direction for scheme design, feasibility studies and contract preparation.
You will hold a Civil Engineering (or equivalent) degree and ideally have
Chartered Membership of MICE and/ or MIStructE with significant experience.
Those individuals who are HNC/ HND qualified with significant experience will also be considered.
It is to be expected that you have proven experience in highway bridge inspections, design, assessments and related subjects, this together with procurement methods. You should have the ability to lead and work as part of a team and have significant experience in project management in a design office environment, and experience of site supervision. You ideally will have a proven track record in the delivery of projects to programme and budget along with a good working knowledge of the County Surveyors’ Bridge Condition Indicator scoring system and current Highways Agency Technical Standards, especially DMRB relevant to the inspection of Highway structures.
