Title: Senior Rail Planner
Description: JOB PROFILE SENIOR RAIL PLANNER - LIVERPOOL - c£35 - 45k Our client has built a worldwide reputation in the transportation arena. This part of their business provides a wide range of technical, managerial and analytical services to their customers throughout the world. As their business continues to grow they are seeking to recruit a Senior Rail Planner to lead on the delivery of their current portfolio of work and build on the continuing success and growth of their national and international business. In more detail the role will involve being highly integrated with a range of rail planning projects and assisting in these project directions. The role will be required to support the tendering team to produce programmes and other deliverables in support of bids for railway (signalling, telecoms & civils) projects. Responsibilities of the role will include the following: • Progress reporting, monitoring the project, updating schedules and assessing its progress in line with deadlines. • Lead and assist in directing the work of a team, ensuring that it is carried out to the appropriate technical standard. • Act as a team leader, ensuring optimum use of the resources for delivering projects on railway planning. • Mentoring less experienced engineers on consultancy processes. • Ensure the work of a team is managed to programme and budget . • Project Manage; includes liaising with the client and responsibility for commercial issues. • Lead the delivery of a variety of transport planning initiatives. • Manage input from their clients specialists to help drive the strategic areas of planning, development and control, Intelligent Transport Systems and growth funding. For your part you will have excellent commercial and financial management awareness, be committed to providing high quality solutions and advice to clients and have first class report writing, project management, supervisory, communication and technical ability. • Degree qualified (or equivalent), ideally within a transport related subject would be preferred, as would professional membership of a relevant institution. • You should have significant experience within transport planning, project management and client liaison. • Be experienced within rail planning, ideally within a consultancy environment. • Strong knowledge of technical transport planning environments, knowledge of the UK transport planning market likely to have been gained over 6+ years. • An understanding of programme planning for construction / installation projects. • Ability to produce methodologies / method statements. • Capable of representing the company in meetings with clients and other contractors.
