Title: Senior Social Researcher
Description: SENIOR SOCIAL RESEARCHER £29 - 35K plus many extras, including a company bonus This hugely successful multidisciplinary engineering consultancy are keen to recruit an experienced Researcher to provide a focal point for an existing team dealing with a range of planning, regeneration and socio-economic issues. Whilst there is an existing core caseload, an essential attribute will be to develop existing and expand future client base and business contacts. What will be key to this role will be to become involved in developing and appraising schemes, policies and programmes and working on a variety of qualitative and quantitative projects as required. In addition the provision of support on regeneration, public transportation, transport policy or socio-economic issues often linking with other company business functions. In more detail there will be responsibility for the control and implementing recruitment and design of working documents to be used in research, as well as developing qualitative research approaches, discussion guides or potential stimulus for consultations. The role is seen as an integral support, and deliverer to an expanding and developing team. On a day to day basis duties will involve coordinating and managing a range of hard-to-reach stakeholders. Presenting findings, justifiable recommendations and strategy to client and colleagues alike. In addition involvement and direction on equality issues and the willingness to offer expertise across the UK, linking with market research and transport planning teams as necessary. There will also be wide-ranging project involvement including consultation exercise ranging use of in-depth interviews, focus groups and quantitative questionnaires, From a candidate perspective it is hoped that you will be degree qualified (or equivalent) in Geography, statistics, economics, planning or a social science ideally incorporating social research and statistics You will have experience at designing and managing quantitative consultation and market research projects. In addition to this the use of SPSS and knowledge of consultation techniques and consultation working in either private or public sector and experience of advising and supporting team members. Experience wise you will have carried out practical work in the implementation of consultation & market research projects and have gained both qualitative and quantitative technique, as well as experience involving sampling and statistical analysis.
