Title: Business Manager - Rail Signalling
Description: Business Manager - Signalling £60 - 70,000 - Midlands This international practice have built an unrivalled reputation for excellence within the rail industry. As their business continues to thrive they are seeking to strengthen this by appointing a National Business Leader to the Signalling teams within the group. This role is seen as a key one within the organisation and will be expected to develop consultancy services to deliver and improve business excellence in accordance with the company's business plan. From an experience viewpoint the company are seeking:- Leadership skills and ability to inspire staff Proven track record in the management of profit & loss Proven ability to establish and maintain profitable relationships with key clients Lead business development strategy for Signalling. Working with the Business Development Manager and bid support team to deliver business plan targets Leadership in the training, mentoring and development of staff to achieve appropriate professional qualifications and career ambitions Ability to lead and inspire excellence in project performance Work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels within the business In more detail the role involves: Full profit & loss accountability for signalling and assigned contracts and projects Developing and managing financial forecast for short, medium and long term business performance Providing direction and leadership to deliver growth through existing and new business opportunities Liaision with the Associate Director, Technical Director and Design Managers to develop and deliver the business plan Developing, maintaining and owning client relationships ito raise brand awareness. Promoting long term relationships and securing profitable new business for the group Work collaboratively with other Business Managers to develop and deliver excellence in business and project performance. Provide direction and leadership to deliver planned growth, recruitment, training and mentoring of staff. Support Design Managers in human resource management activities. Development and implementation of a continuous improvement process to promote best practice throughout the company. Providing direction and support during the bidding process, including resource management, applying knowledge of client relationships and commercial understanding Create and maintain clear lines of communication and conduct regular staff briefings Line Management responsibilities for Signalling Design Office Managers Successful delivery of all contract commitments to technical quality, budget and programme. Support senior management team in delivering strategic change and organisational development. Resource management in line with secured work and business plan objectives. Attend Senior Management meetings reporting on the business performance. Fulfilling all duties required of a Senior Manager with respect to statute, safety, quality, environment, operating excellence, the selection and development of staff, organisational planning. Undertake regional management activities as directed It is hoped that you will have significant experience in business management, with experience in a consultancy services environment in a senior position. You will be a degree holder in Civil Engineering or related subject and be a Chartere3d Engineer (CEng, MIRSE or FIRSE desirable. MICE, MIStructE, FICE or FIStructE). This is a role which will reward genreously and one which carrries excellent long term prospects.
