DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORT PLANNING
UK BASED – NATIONAL ROLE
SALARY:- £100,000 - £120,000 plus attractive benefits package
THE ROLE
Our client has an excellent track record within the transportation arena and as their business continues to thrive they are seeking a well seasoned Director to take on this key role within their transport planning unit which currently numbers some 150 staff.
The position would be a national one and calls for an individual with a proven track record in the consultancy field and somebody who take can the business forward and expand on their offering.
Their business currently turns over £10/12 million and whilst this is mainly UK focussed work there is a desire within the company to explore opportunities overseas.
It is hoped that you will already be working within a well established consultancy and that you will have gained significant experience in leading and developing a business in the transport planning sector. What is key is the vision to make this a major part of the company's business and drive forward their message.
The position will involve responsibility for managing the unit’s day-to-day activities within the company’s strategic and operational frameworks. The Director of Transportation, in conjunction with other board members, will develop long term unit and business strategies for submission to the holding company board. This will include developing a clear understanding of the market in the UK, identifying opportunities consistent with the company’s plans to further expand this division and exploit these opportunities.
Their workload is an extremely varied one and includes:- major transport planning schemes, network management, public transport and ITS work.
As they continue to grow they are seeking to make this key appointment, which will involve complete responsibility for the transport group. This role could be based in any of their UK offices, but would probably be best in one of the following locations:- South East, Midlands or South West.
