Title: Transport Planners
Description: SENIOR TRANSPORT PLANNERS Surrey c££35- 40k As our client's business continues to expand they are seeking to recruit a number of experienced Transport Planners to complement their well established teams. Their projects and invovlement ranges from feasibility and planning work identifying with the client whole business solutions to meeting their needs. Their transport sector offers integrated advice in fields including transport modelling and planning, railway systems, highway engineering and transport interchanges. Some of their more notable projects include:- Crossrail, Victoria Station Upgrade, London Olympics 2012 and a range of other national and international framework schemes. The roles are seen as key within the Transport Strategy team and will involve working on a range of planning projects and assisting in driving these projects forward. In more detail the roles will involve: • Project management of a range of single and multi-disciplinary transport projects involving responsibility for resourcing, financial management and controls including the timely and reliable delivery of objectives. • Responsibility for ensuring appropriate and necessary liaison with programme or project management for resources, resource allocation and team involved in longer-term strategic resourcing requirements and project delivery. • Management of project teams with potential responsibility for model delivery or survey programmes, network updating, matrix development, calibration/validation or forecasting • Assisting as to project requirement’s of major transport schemes assessments and land use developments. • Team mentoring and management involving skills transfer, aligned development to best practice action and activity. • Checking sample output for compliance with quality requirements and industry best practice. • Consultation and liaison with a wide range of client groups enhancing and developing the company's branding and market perceptions. • Managing and communicating client’s expectations, delivery timeframes, risk analysis and advise. • Expanding internal markets within the Group • Key strategic input into divisional business activities, developments and business alignment • Providing key inputs to the development of business cases and potential responsibility for liaison with clients and other project stakeholders • Compiling and writing proposals benefiting business development that will work closely with the existing modelling teams. • Working in a team environment, represent and exemplify the group's PRIDE values in all actions and activities. It is hoped that you will have around 10 years experience and that you will be working in the UK in a transport planning position. Alongisde this you will have experience of transport policy and strategy development along with experience in masterplanning and a good knowledge of the planning system. • Experience and/or knowledge of strategic transport modelling tools and techniques SATURN, VISSIM (or equivalent) would be of benefit. • An interest in and experience of using travel demand management techniques to encourage more sustainable travel behaviour. Additionally a proven success in business development activities, preferably able to demonstrate successful bids/tenders in a consultancy environment. You will be a strong communication and will have the ability to mentor more junior team members as required.
